THE ARTIST BEHIND BLACK CANVAS

Jeffrey McKay

Contemporary artist · visual world-builder · collector of symbols

01 / PRACTICE

Building worlds where memory, imagination, and everyday life meet.

Black Canvas is an evolving visual practice rooted in Black imagination, emotional presence, street rhythm, and the beauty of becoming. Each work begins with a feeling, a symbol, or a piece of lived texture—then grows into a world of its own.

The work moves between regal portraiture, imagined futures, quiet reflection, collage, raw marks, and layered urban energy. The goal is not decoration. It is to make images that stay with you.
